The first time I was in the saddle was when I was 2 his name was Elmo and I still ride him today by the time I was four I could walk trout and little canter. By the time I was six I was showing at leval of 2'0. Now I am older and showing at a leval of 3'0. I was born to be in a saddle and I'm happy about it =D

I was in the saddle before I could walk. I have slept in the hayloft many times.  I was hit in the head by a tree branch when I was about twelve and knocked my self out road three quarters of a mile back to the barn without falling off unconscious. When I came to blood was pouring out of my ear. I got the bleeding stopped and got back on the horse and continued the ride even after many requests from adults to go to the hospital. In 2000 I was a month away from turning 50. My horse tripped and fell. I was used to horses tripping and regaining their footing  so I stayed in the saddle. This time it was a mistake. My horse 1100 lbs of him came crashing down on me. My left side was all smashed. I had three beaks in my navicular bone in my foot, my leg was broken just below the knee, three broken ribs, cracked shoulder, broken sternum. Nine days in the hospital and six months off work. I didn't stay away from the horses in that time which included riding. I kept getting the cast stepped on and every time  it would break. I would go to the hospital and the would patch it up. When I got the cast off it weighed almost nine pounds.  When they took it off to the doctors surprise I had better muscle tone in my left leg than in my right. Because of caring that heavy cast I built up my left muscles. I was supposed to stay off it while it was in a cast but could not stay away from horses for the long.  Just some of my stories of being born in the saddle. I am 61 now and couls talk all day about my horse experiences.  ... Joe
