So Catherine--- what's been happening in your shows? All good? Not many postings lately.
Well Im taking a wee break from dressage showing. Training, taking lessons- Im pretty sure she is understanding the aids for flying changes! And we did some lovely 1/4 pirouette's last week too. I have her entered in an A&P next Sat. Hope she behaves herself!!
Comment by Mary McGuire Smith on February 16, 2012 at 8:15am Well done, Tania! You have a great layout, well-rounded information, a professional image, and seem to have promoted it well. Just make sure that your site is listed on the first page of results with Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. and try to keep up with the search engine optimization as much as possible. That will drive more people to your site.
Comment by Freestyler 005 on February 15, 2012 at 1:35am Hi, I have just finished my web site and constructive crique would be welcome! Any ideas on promotion, I have used FB and Twitter. Many thanks.
Comment by Mary McGuire Smith on February 7, 2012 at 7:14pm I would be very pleased if the members here would read my blog, and comment there if you would like. The current post is titled "Are You Serious?" There are older posts about buying horses, clinic etiquette, and other dressage topics. I post to it rather often, so if you would like to be informed about new posts, click on the "join this site" button on the right. I would be honored to have you join--it is free. :-) http://iridedressage.blogspot.com/
Comment by Mary McGuire Smith on February 7, 2012 at 6:58pm That's great, Vickie! Just so you know, everyone else hits big and small roadblocks with themselves and their horses too....even though it may not seem so. They may not be the same roadblocks, or at the same timing or pace as you, but trust me--everyone finds it difficult at some point(s)! Dressage is simple, but it is NOT easy. It is a long journey, so try to enjoy the successes and push through the setbacks.
Thanks Ellin and Mary! I do take lessons regularly with a top coach here in NZ who is also a List 2 judge. The trouble is getting the movement in the tests. But I am happy many times with my training and progress. I just get so discouraged when I see what Im up against. Others seem to find it so easy and their horses must be doing a far better job!! But thanks for the support!!

Comment by Mary McGuire Smith on February 1, 2012 at 9:14pm I agree with Ellin. Dressage scores can only tell you a fraction of what you need to know, and riding regularly in front of a qualified, knowledgeable instructor is crucial to your (and your horse's) progress. Even we professionals don't ride/train alone.
Don't let the marks discourage you from enjoying dressage, Vickie. Look for an improvement instead and work with a good coach if there is one near you. The joy is in the process.
