Richard M Blaney of Galicenos of Suwannee has graciously allowed me to share this photo. Senor Rey was the Sire of Top Star, a very popular Dun stallion. Top was not a very large horse. Neither was Senor Rey as you can plainly see. We have two of Senor Reys grandfoals living out their lives with us. Our El Cacahuatito and Rosalita Rey Rojo were both sired by Top Star out of a Bala Rojo bred mare.I wondered for years who carried the roan gene as both of my horses are roans, although at different levels of expression. As it shows here, I believe Senor Rey was a bay roan like my Sierra Star. Senor is well muscled with a very spanish croup. He is about 12- 13 hh and while alert, stands quietly for his handler. This is very typical of this breed.

Comment by Kate Green on November 30, 2012 at 11:41pm In other news, Choco's training continues and she is improving by leaps and bounds. We have begun to move out at a trot and she is getting more and more steady at keeping the gait and is easier to guide every time I ask her. Also, asking her is getting so much easier. I rarely use the dressage whip I carry anymore. I started carrying it to reinforce my aids when she would refuse to move, but never used it with much emphasis. Just a little tapping. Now it lays in an idle position against my leg, unused as she moves out from my leg aids now! Yay, success!!!!

Comment by Kate Green on November 26, 2012 at 9:30pm I will upload some pics of Ethan and Wyatt riding soon. They rode Choco and Sierra. Both ladies did a fantastic job with the boys. This was only Sierra's 3rd ride!
