This page is dedicated to watching the mares on Mare Stare, starting with the mini mares at Mulligans Run Farm. But be warned....it is highly addictive.

Comment by Heather Troglauer on April 12, 2012 at 3:40am Well....not alot to update except bags are growing!!! And so are the foals...so it's time to get them out! Several are starting to bag so we may have a foaling frenzy if they don't start sharing.
Ace
has the largest bag....she is testing 7 on the strips and 7 on the refractometer. Since she's Ace of Hearts and her foal will be Kayceeno (casino) the 7 and 7 seem fitting....now Foal dang it!! LOL Ace is in foal to Sawyer.
Pumpkin is finally getting a decent little bag. She is 337 days today...Brenda rechecked her breeding dates and they are right...so we just wait to see what she is cooking. She is in foal to Brenda Sellwood of Firewater Miniatures, World Champion stallion, Domino.
Freyahas a larger bag than Pumpkin and is 320 days today. She is also in foal to Brenda's stallion, Domino.
Chantilly is 303 days today and hopefully in the safe zone. She has a small bag but lots of milk. However she's testing the same as Ace....and I hope Chantilly holds out a bit longer for safety reasons. We so want a live foal from her. She is in foal to Heir. This will be the first foal on the ground by him....God willing.
T.G.I.F. (Freya's mom) is also getting a bag. She's our oldest mare and this will be her final foal. She loves babies, but it's really wearing on her and it's time she retired. We have a home for her in Georgia once her foal is weaned. Sugar Baby will be retiring with her at some point. We are very grateful for their offer to let these ladies retire in style. They certainly deserve it.
So, that's my news of the moment.......stay tuned....things change at the drop of a hat.

Comment by Heather Troglauer on April 9, 2012 at 8:07pm Eve's Colt got into mischief this morning and was on the wrong side of two fences.....he got stuck in between and while trying to extracate himself he got hung up and torn the skin off his hind leg. He's in to get bandaged and cleaned.
