I am needing ideas on how to treat his eyes ,I just got him and the peolpe that had him I do not think they put sun screen on him or masked him at all, he has some sores on his eyes, I have been puting sun screen on him and some eye onitment what I need is to find some one to tattoo his eyes as I have been reserching it studies have shown that it helps with all the stuff that comes from blue eyes with no color, any one have any good ideas?

Hi, welcome to the group! I look forward to hearing your training success stories. I train my own horses, I find that once we 'Join-Up' the rest of training is smooth as a stronger bond has been established. I have interested in Natural Horsemanship and would love to here others views and experiences with it :)

 

Also, my mare Miss Faxed is due early May and is already looking HUGE! I am sooo excited! The sad thing for me is that this foal will be for sale. This will be my first foal from my mare since i have had her (she was previously used as a broodmare only and has produced 7 foals, she is 19). I am currently advertising the foal for sale in utero, if interested you can view info and pics of my mare, the sire and his foals from last spring on my website. I am motivated to sell, this foal will be bred to do it all! breeding, showing, chasing cattle, hacking, English, Western, Driving (my mare's sire Painted Fax has ROM in performance and Superior in Driving, Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle, he holds many World Champion & Res Champion titles)

I just joined the group. I  have a beautiful 6 year old Black and White Tobiano Mare. Her name is Jazz and she's just started her training the natural way. She's very social and learns very quickly. We're looking forward to being part of the group.

my paint mare "Mis Faxed" is bred now and will be home on the 18th... shes been bred to a homozygous black tobiano APHA stud. PPR Ima Maxed Out (Pals Legacy x Maxs Fancy Trixie by a Blue Max son). his dam-line is incredible well bred im really excited. any advice on care of the broodmare? this will be my first experience with my own foal... also my mare is 19 now...is there any extra care for her as she is older?

thats awesome :) i had a look at your website and really enjoyed it! your paint stallion is definately very loud coloured and has a gorgeous head :) has he been shown? he looks like he would do well in the halter ring with his big hips and body. He also has nice bloodlines, i love Painted Robin horses :) I also looked at your broodmares and the one who really stood out to me was Partee Bonnet. very bold colour, my fave paint pattern overo and tovero with tons of white :)

Paint Horse genetics of something that has always interested me. i have done tons of research into the colours and DNA codes. i find the dilute paints to be quite interesting. through researching and learning about the OLWS and hereditary percentages, i learned that my Paint mare is in the 25% overo to overo breeding who survived and did not get the OLWS positive gene.

you definately have some really nice horses. do you stand your paint stallion for public stud?

I look at our foaling time with the Paints ... like opening Christmas presents! You just never know what is going to come out :) We've chosen to stay away from the homoygous as well as the Black/white combination.

I have thousands of horse pics; with and without cows, kids and cowboys (thanks to the invention of the digital camera. I was photo poor before :-)

I have a camera permanently attached to my belt - today three of us rode a field of 1900 acres to bring in some breeding bulls. I'll try to post some pictures tonight - I haven't even looked at them yet.

We've had a breeding program for a little over 20 years - 15 active broodmares/2 studs at this time. There are 10 mares in the prospect field that will move up as required (the older mares hit retirement).

Selling horses internationally is neat but the best part would be to meet their owners face to face. A tax deductable holiday to please my workaholic husband. :-) In June we combined our 4-H judging duties with a visit to 4 customers. A great trip as all four live in an area that is very similar to Ontario - once you visit our site you will see the drastic difference ; we are cactus, sagebrush and shortgrass country.

You might enjoy looking at our APHA stallion if you like loud color.
You will also realize I can get long-winded ;-(

hey :) i too own a Paint mare, shes an APHA reg'd solid paint bred. altho shes a solid grey she has never once had a solid foal. always a 100% colour producer! very very refined mare who has been confused for both an arab and a thoroughbred. she is foundation QH bred...no TBs or arabs in her.

Connie: thats cool that you have horses internationally! do you have some pics of your horses? how long have u been breeding paints?
