So I haven't cantered him for 2 weeks to slow him down and it's working

You see the bending poles in the background well we did those bare back at trott. and cantered them with a saddle a few weeks ago. I probably would have tried them bare back at canter but in our last jumping lesson he was getting too fast and too strong wich is bad as we are teaching him to jump <3
