Equine Intelligence

So, for the first time ever, I have no crazy story to tell. But this time, it's about my observations. People say animals can't "reason" or that they aren't "intelligent". I have to say I dissagree, specially when it comes to horses. The lesson pony I currently ride, is a prick. He likes to desrupt your plans, which makes him a great pony as you need to be a step ahead of him at all times. So if your coming close to a jump, I actully see him turning his ears, and can fell him change his…See More

A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Well I'm a girl, I do not own a horse, I am doing lessons for 6-7 months. I have ridden most of the schooling horses at the barn, my favorite so far being Josie. I'm riding a 16hh Palomino now, who is the correct height for me, so my 5"7 inch's doesn't look tall on him.

I like to act and write, except I can only act with a script and can't improve because I'm to formal when working, which is also why I like english riding, even though I would like to be able to do basic western riding for trail rides, that and I want a western and english trained horse when I get one. Why? Because western training is awsome but english riding is where it's at!(well for me, my instructor dies at me because I chose my discipline(english or western) on what saddle I liked best)

A hurricane, great.

So last night was my ridding lesson.

It didn't go ahead.

I was home suffering with a cold, when a hurricane hit. Now see, the wind wasn't much of a problem. It was the rain. If the rain had been snow, then it would have been fine. But no-where here is built to handle that much rain. So obviously, my lesson did not go ahead. The horses should be fine, I haven't heard any report from any barns in my area that have flooded and horses needed to be moved. Besides for the race… Continue

Life of a teenager in lessons

So today was a good lesson!

By good, I mean I was put on what I like to call the demon horse from hell, aka Dante(that's his actual barn name, I find it very fitting). And he was good with me!

Usually, he is terrible with me. He usually tries to bite me, I mean he bares his teeth like a dog and stretches out his neck, and if possible he will take a snap. He also like to charge people in the field. (Most of this at me was brought on by me, brought on by me I mean I wasn't… Continue

Life of a teenager in lessons

I am starting this blog for one reason only. Because I feel like writing about my riding experiences, and suck at keeping a journal. That and hopefully some of you will get a laugh at my expense!

So, I had a lesson last night. I was saved by my instructor being absent and another instructor taking her place. Why was I saved? Because my instructor likes to push me and as soon as she sees a flaw she tells me to fix it, and she usually spots them right when they happen so I can't even… Continue
