"Are you going to ride them or drive them?  Of course they would also make super pack ponies, I bet they could carry a heavy load of supplies for camping. With those thick necks it may do you good to look into clicker training.  They look…"

"Yeah Joe, you will have your own horses again! I'm not very familiar with Newfoundland ponies.  I'd love to see some pictures, even if they look like hairy monsters still.  Are they or will the filly be big enough for you to ride?"

"Finally we have horses again. I just bought a Newfoundland Pony mare and her daughter who's father is an Appaloosa. Rosy is the mare and Marley is the filly. Marley will be two Sept.11, 2013. We bring them home later in May when the pasture is…"

can't fall off at the walk!

I was riding my gelding after lots of off and on rides for about the last several months with 2 other geldings. One horse was dead quiet and mine was on the buckle and the third was was quiet at that time.  For the first time in 11 years that I have owned him, he has never lunged at another horse in a defensive position with me on him.  First of all I learned from that move that   you can fall off at a walk, second thing is that as he ages he get more herd bound in that on the cross ties he…

Hi Gail -- wow, very close indeed. I'm on Sideline 2 just south of Durham 5/Concession 9 (the Claremont/Myrtle/Raglan road). Just west of LakeRidge and Ashburn Road. Are Pascoe's not there anymore? I haven't seen them in some time, but they took great care of Toddy when I spent that year in Bermuda back in '95. Jason was going to bring him up to Intermediate, but it never quite came together! (Toddy, btw, is still going strong at 27, though he is fully retired now.)

We should meet up for lunch sometime in Port Perry! Piano Cafe?

Gail,
You mentioned you are hauling, on your own now. If you make it to Indiana I'll put you up here, just outside of Indianapolis. You can email me on my personal email if you are interested. bcoryell@voyager.net

I have not been through settling an older person in a new environment. I was home all week working and have not been out the door since last sunday. Have great hopes about escaping this weekend. Gail.

hey Gail I hope to be up tommorrow - Spud has rim pads on now - no snowballs in his feet yesterday! Spent from 9-6 trying to get my dad settled. It was like leaving your kid at boarding school -very distressing.

I see in a previous posting that you had rescued him. He looks like a sweet fellow. When do you ride during the summer ie weekdays or weekends. I have not accomplished my quest of trailering myself and the horse to meet another human and horse to ride the Durham Forest. I have a Bockmann trailer and vehicle that will haul but it has been used only once in a year and a half. Gail.
