B. G. Hearns said… Thanks for the invite, I am still thinking about it, but I have a couple of task which require my attention before I can pay more attention to cavalry training.
That said, which two weekends in May were you planning to get together? I work some weekends, and have some commitments already, but I'd still like to truck my horse out to a practice, and see what we can do, whenever I can.
Ashley Ward (Pure Horse Sense) said… Hi Gary,
Thank you for the information. I'll be sure to pass this around to other people I know who may be interested.

Barb mcleod said… Thank you for the info. my little mare would not be suitable, she is a hunter and is a princess - chestnut mare what can I say...
Take care

Mary Cafik said… I would love to try.I have one just retired racer that was very successful (and still very competitive) and a sometimes lame x-racer. Could we train with you? Perhaps one could just be hobbled in the area to make it look authentic? I think this is an awesome endeavor.
John Freeman said… Hi Gary,
Its not so much that either of us is too weathered. Its more that we are more interested in trail riding, dressage and jumping, in that order. One cannot do everything and I am too busy to add anything new at the moment.

John Freeman said… Hi Gary,
That's so kind of you to invite me to participate in your reenactments, but I'm really not interested. I love the idea of it but at 67, with an 18 year old horse, riding the trails is more our speed.
I will mention your offer and your organization at our barn.
Best wishes,
John
On Deck Equine Marketing said… Thanks for the info, that is very interesting. When I was in high school I participated in Civil War re-enactments they were a load of fun.
I would love to come out and see one of your events sometime.
Best of luck this summer

john gierszewski said… thanks for the welcome and info, i'll have to come out and see one of your outings at some point this coming year.
Gina OSullivan said… Thanks Gary, that very interesting - I am also interested in the US civil war, from a historical point of view it wasnt that long ago - I wonder if we have really progressed at all as a society other than technology
Many years ago I participated in English Civil War renactments- I was a Cavalier ( of course!!) Great fun and as a 16th/17th century history buff- gave me quite a connection to past events...
All the best Gina
Krystal Warkentin said… It sounds really cool. And my grandfather would be thrilled if I did something like that! He wanted me join the military my whole life (clearly I'm not military material haha) He loves history and all that entails. But he's also the one who got me into riding as a child and he took me to all my lessons and paid for everything for so many years. If I did that he would be absolutely ecstatic! We'll keep in touch!!!
