I don't think I can pinpoint one thing I love best about my horse.  Its the cumulative effect; galloping up the pasture when I come out to the gate, a peaceful trail ride, or quietly listening while I pour out my heart.  I even love listening to them eat their grain at night, which can be kind of noisy, they chew loudly!

She saved my life...

My horse is like a therapist...he puts up with all my shenanigans! LOL  He allows me to step away from my stress when i watch him run and buck around like a goof ball!

Who else whinny's when they see me? Who can put their big chin on my shoulder and push me into their chest just so I can wrap my arms around their neck for a hug? Who bows when they smell a hidden treat just so they can eat it? My horse does and that is why I love him so much.

the fact that they have never once told me '"eww...mom jeans..don't ever wear THOSE again cause they make you look fat!,"  like both my daughters have, when they come running up to me in the pasture. 

his ability to bring out the best and worst in me.  He has taught me so much in the almost 6 years I have had him.  He has a willingness to do whatever I ask of him, but at the same time, he keeps me humble... Beside my husband, he is the best thing that has come into my life.  He is my teacher and best of all, he doesn't judge me if I am having a bad day...

I love my mare becuase she makes me happy.  I feel more at peace when I'm with her and I think she gives me inner strength (or shows me I'm stronger than I realize) in her own quiet way.  I love her kind eye and her laid back attitude.  Her barn nickname is "The Queen" and she has the personality to match!

...even though he's so young, he's kind and gentle and takes good care of his over-the-hill, but young-at-heart owner.
