Comment by Stephanie briggs on February 13, 2012 at 2:49pm The thing I love most about my horses is that they are both alive and healthy!! That each day i get to see them run free and happy in my field! That they are the best companions in world able to get me through all the ups and downs of life.
I have recently had to put down my youngest filly bought at the NRHA legacy sale in 2010 because of PSSM. The cruelty that the breeders have put my horse and i through was totally unnecessary as we live in a day and age that PSSM, HERDA, GBED, HYPP, and MH (http://www.aqha.com/en/News/News-Articles/02032012-Genetic-Testing....). In memory of her, i beg all the members to get their quarter horses tested for peace of mind and to force the breeders to provide us proof that their animals are healthy. As my original statement above would have been that my 3 horses.....

Comment by Kristen on February 13, 2012 at 2:40pm The thing I love most about my horse is that when I'm feeling down, she always knows how to cheer me up by acting silly and she also helps me to try out new things even when I may be scared to.
He always know when i need him the most, if i've had a rough day, he knows
always eager to please, what a loving soul to share
Comment by Chantler on February 13, 2012 at 2:33pm The thing I love most about my horses is that they're always there for me. After I've been away at school for a month or two I can come back and they're happy to see me, I can forget everything else and just watch them be horses.
Comment by Leueen Willoughby on February 13, 2012 at 2:29pm I love my horse because when I look into his big kind eyes I know.....I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
The thing I love most about my horse is EVERYTHING! He's cute, fuzzy (in the winter), playful, inquisitive (he's quite the investigator), likes to have a job to do, tries so hard to understand what I'm asking of him, responds well to positive reinforcement, hates doing the same thing over and over, loves to have attention lavished on him, is a licker (he is always licking me or my clothes), and is very clear in his communication when he likes or doesn't like something. He's my special friend and my partner. He carries me through 50 mile endurance races and doesn't question where I ask him to go,even if it's a shoulder deep river. I love him and the person he has made me.
Comment by RoriLee Corsi on February 13, 2012 at 1:44pm The thing I love most about my horse Molly is that she knows that I am different from other people but it doesnt matter to her. I take my time getting on her but she stands their waiting patiently. I have tremors in my hands but it doesnt bother Molly if my hands shake on the reins and I give her a different cue than needed ...she stills knows what to do. I am physically challenged and have been since I was born and will been having another major foot surgery this august and after the second cast comes off I will be wearing a brace that I will have to wear for the rest of my life. I will never stop riding and doing what I love and that is being around my BEST FRIEND MOLLY WHO I LOVE !!!!!!
The thing I love most about my horse is he saved me as much as I saved him. His capacity for warmth and forgiveness grows each day and he has a wicked sense of humor! And he is the most beautiful and elegant old gentleman one could ever hope to know. xoxo Corky
