I like doing little things with my Guy at liberty. He was like her when I first got him, would flinch if I just touched his body, head flew back, wouldn't let me rub his face, cringed if I got near the girth area, chicken dance putting on a saddle. He's so much better now, I can rub his face and anywhere, clean his johnson, saddle up with just mild guardeness (old memories must die hard). I teach him to do a little bow for a carrot and we are starting a little sidestep. He actually cooperates better at liberty, since he had tying issues at first as well. I think he wanted to be close but someone had been teaching him to "respect their space". I asked him to move back and away (gently) when I want that, but also to come close when asked.

Tehe the hug is the only thing that isn't a trick, she does this naturally. She's a very motherly horse who likes being close to people. You put your arms around her neck she hugs you back. Makes a massive change from the horse she used to be who would back up, with her head in the air then shuffle away.

Very cute tricks. The hug is especially adorable, and the Elvis lip at the end!
